SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

Marathon Durandal XBox 360

So I just played Marathon on the Xbox.

Some fun stuff. I was fast on the controls... bout as fast as I was with original Marathon, considering it was not mouse and keyboard back then, but keyboard only.

I dunno if it was the control stick scheme, or the fact that I've been playing M:R for too long, but turning in Marathon Durandal is painfully slow. Rotational acceleration is extremely noticable, and makes strafing much harder.

Bunch of new maps that I didn't recognize... Fun to play, but they looked like ass. Even maps I recognized looked pretty crappy to me... I keep forgetting the Marathon's maps didn't really shine till Marathon: Infinity.

But I'm spoiled rotten, after M:R, with super sweet textures, real lighting, real models and mouse look...

I gotta say I enjoy M:R more then I do Marathon Durandal on Xbox...

But I'm biased as hell. :-P
