The manual states that aliens will come later. The current solo levels are simply teasers.
I did see two new bugs pop up when I played...
First, the player doesn't asphyxiate when his oxygen tank runs out underwater. So basically you can stay underwater indefinitely.
Second, when you have the invincibility powerup you're 100% invincible. That includes the fusion pistol, which in the original Martahon was the only weapon that can penetrate an invincible opponent.
Keepin' my eyes peeled for more...
