How come there is no blood ?

I remember marathon as beeing one of the more gorier games that I have played.
I mean you shot a BOB (oh no I dident) with a grenade, and his stomack exploded, and he could fill an entire corridor.
The same with the Pfhor... Goo alloever the place.
But there is slmost no blood here...
Personally id like a lot more guts flying... at least blood.
