I was actually thinking about a map myself. And after playing through the m2 demo, then realising that it had a map, I began to wounder if it was actually necessary.
It did get dizzy in M1 (origional) however you did not have the freedom to look around the world, and with UT, you can look up the shafts, and over ledges etc. Also, the team was generious and enabled jump which helps alot in many parts.
