SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

In Response To: I'm sort of curious... (sillyinquisitiveperson)

: 1. will there be a crosshair?

The goal of the project is to convert the game in spirit and letter. As the game didn't originally have the crosshair, the recreation doesn't either.

: 2. will there be some kind of overhead map?

The original marathon map was actually created in the 2D overhead view and then extruded vertically when played. Thus, they were able to show the actual map of the level as you played it.

Unfortunately, there isn't an easy way to create that overhead view in the Unreal Engine. It's not going to map out your coordinates and then draw a map dynamically (but it *is* possible to draw a map ahead of time and then draw out the vectors. difficult, though, and quite time consuming).

So, that would probably be another "no."
