If you notice what games they reviewed that are known for their plots (Ha!): Doom and Mortal Kombat. Plus two others I've never heard of.
If the prosecution (or defense, whoever were the 'bad guys') is going to show violent games as evidence, why didn't the defense (or prosecution, the 'good guys') show Marathon? Duh. Or Deus Ex. Or Myst.
It still ticks me off that people blame Columbine on violent games. There was so much more to that than just the games, but anyway...
