SPEAK YOUR MIND
"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free
to move?"
"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as
metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course,
the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom,
as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning.
Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

i NEED another program. My net connection requires me to have another program open to stay connected, stupid crappy telstra broadband. i dont know why, but when i open UT it disconnects me from the net, no mattter how little of a length of time i play for. This used to happen with Diablo 2 before i checked the option that allowed me to "Share Processor Time", if there was an option like this in UT, i'd have no problem.
The problem, as it stands, is that macOS (up until OSX) use co-operative multitasking, whereas PC's and OSX use pre-emptive multitasking. In co-op, a program uses all the processor, and then IT decides when it relinquishes control. Under Pre-Empt the processor can take away control, and assign it on a priority basis, or so i've heard.
So, what i need to do is to simulate Pre-Emptive on OS9.2, or get OSX aand have to wait for UTX to come out.
simple neh?
