SPEAK YOUR MIND
"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free
"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as
metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course,
the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom,
as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning.
Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

In Response To: Invic bug, the player's ass and a server question (Djof)
: This one isn't really a bug, but why-oh-why is the camera
: centered on the player's model's ass when the game
: ends? It could be centered on his face, it would be
: better :)
If I had to venture a guess, it would be that the camera rotates around the player base point, which is usually at the player's waist. Change the pivot point, and then you get all sorts of problems when the UT engine netcode decides whether the actor is relevant to you or not (I believe the pivot needs to be in view in order to see the player, consequently leading to craziness). I think that's why you don't see the players on the elevators behind the transparent glass as the pivot point is hidden to the engine so you don't see the player (name of map escapes me =( ).
Meh, but what do I know. I'm no coder. I'm just a stinking modeller. =)
