SPEAK YOUR MIND
"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free
to move?"
"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as
metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course,
the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom,
as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning.
Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

I had a quite memorable 10 minute, 1-on-1 DM game on Waldo World Arena a while back. I played against a good friend of mine who was my equal in every aspect of the game. Talk about knowing your enemy. We battled it out for 9.5 minutes and we were still within one kill of each other. We had a nasty rocket launcher battle, then it was reduced to the AR's. I kept picking away at his health with my bullets, but he managed to lob a grenade which caused enough damage to kill me. So there I was, thinking that I had just lost the game. There was no chance in hell that I could've killed him with 3 seconds left--although I knew he was very low in health. I scrambled to get out the door and maintained a pistol in hand. Time was running out, so I opened the door and fired into the darkness on the opposite side of the arena. *POW!* To his complete and utter disbelief, I had nailed him right in the head with that one shot... He was dead and the game ended. I actually won the game. It rocked so hard. Probably my fondest 1-on-1 match, although there were many, many others like it.
