SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

Converting Maps

Posted By: NeoN

I used to dabble in creating maps for all versions of Marathon. I'm just curious as to how to go about converting some of my old maps over to Unreal Tournament. What editor does it require? What 3D format do you need to use? I know there have been some programs in the past that could export a .dxf file of a marathon map, but can that be used to convert your map to an Unreal Tournament editor? I imagine that it would need much tweaking after that, but if you had the basic geometry of the level already done.. it wouldn't require as much effort. Although I can imagine that the world units in Unreal are probably completely different than those of any version of Marathon. This is also another matter of conversion. What rates would you use? Can anybody help me out here?
