I can answer a couple of your questions, anyway.

Make sure that you select the "Every Man For Himself" gametype when starting a practice session. This tells UT to use the Marathon weapons and physics. If you are launching Resurrection from the "Mod" menu (to preview the unpopulated solo levels) and still getting this behavior, I'm not sure what might be causing that.

I do not know. There are a ton of things that could affect this, and many of them have nothing to do with the mod or UT itself (firewalls, your PC's networking setup, etc.). Have you been able to set up a standard UT server? Perhaps one of the other team members might be able to give you some ideas.

Unknown at this point. We have several tracks produced, but I'm not sure when they'll be implemented. My sense is that they are not high on the priority list, but they are in the cards.

The next beta will have server browser tabs for the various gametypes (EMFH, Team EMFH, KOTH) supported by M:R, so you will be able to find all advertised servers from within Resurrection. I don't know of any plan to have a listing service on this site, and given the transient nature of servers I doubt if it will be possible or desirable to do so.
