: (Shotgun handling)
AFAIK, if you have one round and two guns, you can fire with whichever gun you want.
: I meant using the M1 look for the guns that were in M1. I
: think the M2 ones look better and all, though. Will
: you have both alien weapons?
Because the M1 looks were stupid, frankly. Who's ever heard of a revolver that loads with a clip? Who would make an assault rifle that has the majority of its weight shifted to the front, instead of properly balanced? Don't get me started on the original SPNKR.
Also, read the FAQ. We have to exercise our own creativity. We're not going to use the M1 "look" for two reasons:
1: The majority of weapons didn't make sense.
2: Carbon copying is no fun.
: Jumping severely changes some of the maps though.
: Especially in single player, it's very easy to get all
: kinds of secrets that used to take work/skill. For
: instance, the ledge near the switch that raises the
: stairs in Never Burn Money.
All this will be dealt with. A FPS without the jump and crouch ability is one that will fail. You're playing the single-player in a developmental stage, and it's FAR from complete. So, in conclusion, jumping and crouching will be in the single-player. No one except hardcore Marathoners would play it if we didn't have those abilities. We want to give other people the Marathon experience as well.
: On a related note, to appease the people who want
: modern-looking maps, you could pretty them up with a
: few extra polygons without changing gameplay or
: severely changing the atmosphere.
We're doing just that. In my opinion, you could change everything in Marathon except the storyline and still have Marathon. Of course, there are those on the team that disagree, so we make compromises on what will be changed and what remains.
