it seems reasonable to have crosshairs as an option set by whoever gathers the game. if it's left to individuals there'll be a mix of on/off which is just stupid.
as for Bungie, i'm sure they could have put jumping in; it would be a minor programming issue compared to the rest of the amazing work they did.
on the comment about not being able to jump with eight weapons on your back because it's unrealistic, what about running around for hours on end up and down staircases with 8 weapons and 1,000 rounds of ammo? that's pretty unrealistic too!
