SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

If it doesn't kill the mood and the dev team wants to implement it, what about having the player give off a tiny ambient glow? Then you could have the levels really dark (which I like) but not end up running into walls (which I don't like). The area immediately surrounding the player would be visible enough that you could see where you're going but the distance would still be dark, moody, and not washed out due to too much gamma brightening.

I dunno, this might suck ass and totally ruin the mood of the game, but maybe it would be cool? Something to try?
