SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

A few folks say it looks too dark. One or two think it looks too bright. For the dev team it seems to be just right, despite the fact that we have a mix of PC's and Macs and a variety of graphics cards... how could this be?

We adjusted the gamma!

There are several ways to adjust the in-game gamma from within UT. First, from the Options:preferences menu, there is a brightness slider in the Video tab. Turning this brightness too high can cause bright lights to bleed out, so check the effect on the background image to judge the effect.

Now comes the big one, and what I suspect you need to do. Once in-game, press the F11 key to improve the overall brightness. My guess is you are at a low level with this setting. My game goes completely black at a setting of 3 or less, but is perfect at 5 or so.

And the best part is that these settings affect only UT. Your default monitor settings are unchanged.

: It looks just fine on my machine acctually. Maybe the
: fault is in your system and not in the M:R??
