I think that because of the way marathon did many of the battles, the enemies should have to be made less complex. In unreal 1, you ran into 3 skaarj, you fps dropped about 30 points. I think a good benchmark is to have alien models at 50% polycount of the UT player models. Becuase you're likely to have upwards 8 aliens fighting you at least once per level, I think simplifying models is a good idea. can you imagine what it would be like to have the fight aliens with the framerate of having 8-16 bots onscreen? It's not so much of suggestion, just an idea, and also a question. Will the aliens in MR be simple enough to keep the game running smooth in battles, but complex enough to look like the origionals?
