SPEAK YOUR MIND

"Does the distance one travels from center make one more free to move?"

"No. Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphor has two parts: form and interpretation. Of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom is being the bricoleur, the mason."

: Part of the old Marathon mystique: know when to empty
: your gun of the last few rounds to begin the next
: encounter with a full clip... not realistic but still.

Hmm... Well, of the things my PC friends bitch about M:R and the original is...

No reloading button.
No crosshairs.

I've gotten used to both, but not having a reload button is stupid. The alternative, instead of reloading the gun, is to blow the ammunition at a wall so I can enter the next room with a full clip.

Now tell me, how does that enhance atmosphere, gameplay, anything?

In multiplayer, it simply means you chug the last bullets into the dead body so you can meet the next player with a full clip. I'm not an 1337 gamer, so I rarely reload in any game except Infiltration but I can totally see how the hardcore gamers would think that no reload button is stupid.

Part of the Marathon mystique? So um, how does knowing when to reload, and when to blow my last 10 bullets in the AR at a wall before I enter the next room differ gameplay wise?
Either way, you enter the room with a full clip if you were smart.
